3 students meet watery grave in Nalia River in Odisha’s Bhadrak

Bhadrak: In a tragic incident, three students died after drowning in Nalia River here in the district today.

The deceased youth were identified as Pranay Lenka, Smruti Ranjan Swain and Rajat Jena — all were the Plus 2 students of Charampa College in Bhadrak district.

According to reports, five friends from Langudi area under Bhadrak Rural Police Station had been to the Nalia River near Haripur area under Bhadrak Block for taking bath today. After getting into the water, all five unfortunately drowned in the river.

The locals managed to rescue all five from the water and admitted them to the Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital for treatment. However, doctors declared three dead at the hospital.

On receiving information, Bhadrak MLA Sanjib Kumar Mallick and Block chairperson reached the hospital to console bereaved families.
