3-year-old girl who earlier went missing found dead in pond in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj

Baisinga: A baby girl who had gone missing since yesterday evening was found dead today in a pond near her father’s house in Kanthi village of Kalama panchayat under Baisinga police limits of Mayurbhanj district. Following this, the body was fished out by the kid’s family.

The deceased was identified as Parbati Bindhani, the daughter of Dipu Bindhani from the village.

According to sources, the father and mother of the girl are daily wagers and work in local farmlands. They had gone to Basudevpur of Bhadrak district to work. They had left the kid at an acquaintance’s house. The relative searched for the baby at all possible locations to find her out but to no avail.

Some neighbours spotted the body while it was floating on water. The girl was taken to a hospital in Betanoti in the district where doctors declared her ‘dead’. Baisinga police have registered an unnatural death (U/d) case in this connection and launched a probe, which is underway.
