3-year-old missing boy found dead in well in Odisha

Dhenkanal: A 3-year-old boy who had gone missing was found dead inside a well at Khankira village under Nihalprasad police limits in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district today.

According to reports, the child went missing while playing in the village last evening. His family members searched for him at various places in the locality, but in vain. His body was found inside an abandoned well in the village early this morning around 4 am.

Fire Service personnel recovered the body while police have initiated an investigation. Though the reason behind the death was yet to be ascertained, it is being suspected that the boy was murdered and the body was thrown into the well.

In a similar incident, a 3-year-old missing girl was found dead in a pond at Badhipatna village under Ranpur police limits in Nayagarh district yesterday. Father of the deceased alleged that some villagers murdered her daughter.

The girl went missing on December 11 while she was playing near her house. Her family members had lodged a missing complaint with the police.
