3 youths dead after speeding Chhattisgarh SUV hits motorcycle in Odisha’s Nayagarh

Dasapalla: In a tragic road mishap, three bike-borne youths were killed as the motorcycle on which they were travelling had a head-on collision with a speeding sports utility vehicle (SUV) near Subalaya Chhak on Khordha-Bolangir NH-57 under Dasapalla police limits in Nayagarh district, today afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Deepak Medinira, Situ Khan and Gokulananda Nayak, all belonged to Dasapalla NAC limits. The youths were aged between 25 to 30 years.

The fatal road mishap took place at around 3.00 pm. The SUV (registration number CG-07 BP-2971) was on its way from Dasapalla side to Nayagarh when driver of the vehicle lost control of it leading to the deaths. The youths were going from the opposite direction.

On being informed by some locals, Dasapalla police reached the accident site and initiated a probe. The injured were rescued and immediately sent to hospital for treatment, where doctors declared them ‘dead’. Police have detained the SUV driver and are interrogating him.

Tension erupted on the spot following the mishap. Police later convinced the irate locals.

Earlier in the day, as many as six labourers were killed and several others critically injured after a tipper truck carrying cement and iron rods overturned in Swabhiman Anchal of Malkangiri district.
