32 cops among 295 fresh COVID-19 cases in Odisha Capital

Bhubaneswar: A total of 32 police personnel were among the 295 fresh COVID-19 cases detected in Bhubaneswar city in last 24 hours. As per the data provided by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today, the 32 police personnel were in quarantine when they tested positive for the deadly virus.

As many as 28 staff of a biscuit factory in Chandaka area were also found to be infected with the coronavirus.

A 25-year-old male from Palaspalli area having travel history to Hyderabad tested positive for COVID-19.

Out of the total fresh COVID-19 cases, 142 were local contact cases. All the positive cases have been shifted to COVID hospitals, an official said.

With this, a total of 7,015 positive cases have been detected in the city. The number of active cases is 2,754 till now.

In last 24 hours, a total of 158 COVID-19 patients recovered from the virus infection and were discharged from hospitals. The recovery count so far in the city is at 4,219.

A total of 33 patients died of COVID-19 in the city.
