Berhampur: Ganjam, which has been registering COVID-19 positive cases in three digits every day for the couple of days, today reported 286 new cases. With this, the district’s tally surged to 4,621.
The district alone reported 46.2 % of the total 618 positive cases detected in the entire state today. Besides, two more patients succumbed to Coronavirus in the district. They were a 65-year-old male, who was also suffering from diabetes, and another 86-year-old male, who was also suffering from chronic hypertension.
The fresh 286 cases include 34 Corona Warriors, three persons with travel history to other state and 249 persons with active contact with previous positive cases. All the new cases have been shifted to COVID hospital, informed officials.
Currently, the number of active cases in the district stands at 1874. However, 2701 patients have recovered from the disease while as many as 46 succumbed to the virus.
