4 Khel Vikas women weightlifters for National School Games

Four women weightlifters of Khel Vikas would participate in the girls’ U-17 category in the National School Weightlifting Championships to be held in Guwahati, Assam from January 21 to 23.

The four weightlifters— Sitamani Hembram, Pinki Nayak, Jyoti Badamundi and Santilata Nayak—finished first in their respective weight categories in the Odisha State School Competition held in December last year.

Sitamani had finished at the top 10 in her weight category in the National Youth Weightlifting Championships held in Guwahati in December last year.

A sports development initiative of Gram Vikas, in collaboration with Delhi-based sport development trust, Pro4Sport Solutions (P4SS), Khel Vikas facilitates access to sport for all, especially tribal and underprivileged youth of Odisha.

The aim is to provide holistic and all-round development of underprivileged youth in the economically backward and remote areas of Odisha.
