4 Odia girls among finalists of online beauty pageant

Bhubaneswar: Beauty isn’t about a pretty face, but an outstanding personality brimming with confidence, is what young model from Odisha capital Pramita Mohapatra believes.

The 20-year-old is currently leading the people’s choice poll of a popular online beauty pageant, The Great Pageant Community 2017, in which Madhumita Das, Deekshya Singh and Subhasmita Biswal are the other three contestants representing Odisha.

Studying in a women’s college in Bhubaneswar, Pramita was also a finalist at Nitrutsav organized by fbb Campus Princess at NIT Rourkela in 2017.

“I had to send my videos and photographs for the online selection process. There was an interview round too where they asked me questions relating to my personality and life,” Pramita said.

This young model wants to represent Odisha at national and international-level beauty contests. “I have big dreams for which this contest is a huge support and the stepping stone,” she added.

This is the fourth season of The Great Beauty Pageant, which intends to promote and provide exposure to aspiring beauty queens by giving them an online platform.

“We have had some amazing contestants like Priyanka Kumari who won the TGPC title and later went on to become Miss Intercontinental India 2017 and was the second runners-up of Femina Miss India 2017. Our aim is to bring out the best in all our contestants so they can represent their homeland on bigger platforms,” said Dipak Shahi, co-founder of The Great Pageant Community.
