Kandhamal: A four-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a minor boy in Baliguda police station area in Kandhamal district yesterday.

The accused boy, however, has absconded after the incident.

Sources said when the minor girl was playing outside her house, a boy of a neighbouring house lured her and managed to take her to an isolated place. He later raped her there. Later, the little girl brought the matter before her family members, who lodged a complaint at police station last night.

Police registered a case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and launched a manhunt to nab the accused.  Besides, the girl was sent to a hospital for medical examination. However, police officials could not be contacted to comment on the matter.
