40 houses gutted in fire in Odisha village, two injured

At least 40 thatched houses were gutted in a major fire outbreak in Bhapur Haridapasi village under Sadar block in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district today.

An elderly person and a minor girl have been in injured in the fire. They have been admitted to the district headquarters hospital here, reports said.

Two fire tenders have been pressed into service to douse the blaze. The intensity of the blaze was so high that fire tenders were finding it difficult to tame the blaze, reports added.

Locals have demanded immediate relief to affected families, further said.
