40-plus temperatures at 12 places in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Odisha continued to reel under intense heat wave as 12 places recorded temperature above 40 degrees Celsius today.

Highest temperature was recorded in the city of Talcher at 43.8 degrees Celsius while Angul sizzled at 43.7 degrees Celsius.

Coastal parts of the State, however, experienced a slight respite.

In Bhubaneswar, the maximum temperature was 39.6 degrees while Cuttack recorded 39 degrees Celsius.

The maximum day temperature recorded at Titlagarh was 43 degrees Celsius, Jharsuguda (42.1), Sambalpur (41.1), Chandbali (39.6) and Keonjhar (40.1).

The Met Office said the heatwave would continue in the State for the next few days, making life unbearable.
