400 lts liquor seized from motorcyclists after road mishap in Odisha’s Balasore

Balasore: More than 400 litres of country-made liquor was seized from two motorcyclists near Sahaspur under Khantapada police limits in Odisha’s Balasore district today after they met with an accident.

According to reports, three persons were heading towards Dhamra from Balasore on separate motorcycles this morning, during which the two-wheelers hit a bullock near Sahaspur. The three fell from the vehicles following which locals gathered at the spot and found that the trio was carrying country-made liquor on the motorcycles.

Though one of the accused managed to flee the place, locals thrashed the two persons and informed the police about the incident. They also damaged the motorcycles.

Excise officials have detained the two for questioning and seized the liquor, which was allegedly transported illegally on the motorbikes by the accused.
