4237 more test COVID-19 positive in Odisha; 17 districts report over 100 cases

Bhubaneswar:  As many as 4237 persons in Odisha tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours taking the state’s total count to 1,92,548.

Of the total fresh cases detected from 30 districts, 2485 have been reported from different quarantine centres while remaining 1752 are local contacts. Contact tracing and follow-up action is underway, said Information and Public Relation (I & PR ) Department.

Khordha recorded highest 647  fresh cases followed by Cuttack (577) and Puri (219). Total 17 districts recorded over 100 positive cases in the last 24 hours.  

With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state rose to 38,546.  However, 1,53,213 patients have recovered in the state so far.

It is pertinent to mention here that total 45,321 number of samples were tested in the state in the last 24 hours. So far 29,05,731 tests have been conducted in the state.
