46 buffaloes rescued in Odisha’s Rayagada, 16 held

Rayagada: Police today rescued as many as 46 buffaloes in Kalyansinghpur area of Odisha’s Rayagada district as the animals were allegedly being trafficked in pickup vans.

According to reports, cops intercepted 11  pickup vans in which the buffaloes were being transported from Kalahandi to Andhra Pradesh through Dhamunipanga forest road.

Besides rescuing the animals, police also detained 16 persons in this connection for questioning. Cops have also seized the 11 vehicles and started an investigation into the incident.
