4th edition of Yogathon hosted in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The fourth edition of Yogathon was hosted at Sports Ground, KV-1 in the state Capital today early morning.

The event was inaugurated by founder and editor of Sambad  and Khandapada MLA Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, Twin City Police Commissioner Saumyendra Kumar Priyadarshi, Sambad Group’s MD Monica Nayyar Patnaik and Yoga Guru Acharya Bhabamitrananda Avadhuta.

Soumya Ranjan Patnaik welcomed the participants of the Yogathon.

“One will only be benefited from yoga and lose nothing. The most prized possession a person may own is a healthy mind and a healthy body. Only if the mind and the body are in perfect synchronization, an individual can remain protected,” he said.

Monica Nayyar Patnaik talked in brief about the various yoga asanas and mediation programmes that were about to be demonstrated at the Yogathon and said, “It’s inspiring to look at the number of participants that have joined us this morning, despite the cold weather.”

Yogathon began at 6 am with chants of Omm and veda mantra by Yogacharya Surendra and Yogacharya Ranjan. Following the lighting of the lamp by the guests, an address was made by the President of All Odisha Yoga Association (AOYA).

The first yoga session of the day was initiated by Yogacharya Manoj. It was followed by pranayam session by Yogacharya Birakishor. Later, Yogacharya Surendra guided the participants with Shanti Patha, Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra, Gayatri Mantra.

After the completion of the yoga and pranayam sessions, several yoga cultural demonstrations were made by different groups of students from DAV School Chandrasekharpur and Amrita Vidyalaya.in addition to this, individual performances were also made by students from Cuttack.

 

The AOYA Secretary closed the fourth edition of Yogathon with a vote of thanks. The handsome gathering of people from all age groups at the event accounted for its huge success.
