Kendrapara: In a major breakthrough, the Kendrapara police arrested five persons in connection with an rape attempt on a woman at Poipata village in Kendrapara district three months ago.

Kendrapara SP Niti Sekhar informed this at a Press meet here today.

On April 28, some miscreants forcibly entered the house and assaulted her husband and sons before locking them in a room. They later took the woman to an isolated place and attempted to rape her. However, as she screamed for help, the miscreants fled the spot.

The woman and her two sons were later admitted to a hospital for treatment.
