5 critical as Kolkata-bound bus rams into stationary truck in Odisha

Balasore: At least five persons were critically injured after the bus they were travelling in rammed into a truck near Begunia Chhak in Khantapada of Balasore district last night.

Reportedly, the private bus named ‘Pradhan’ was plying to Kolkata from Bhubaneswar carrying around 50 passengers, when the driver lost control over the vehicle late last night. As a result, the bus rammed into a truck parked near Begunia Chhak leaving five persons critically injured. The driver and helper fled the spot leaving the bus following the accident.

After receiving information, Khantapada police arrived at the accident spot and rescued the injured from the bus and immediately rushed them to Balasore district headquarters hospital (DHH).
