5 Doctors, 10 nurses of VIMSAR sent on quarantine in Odisha

Sambalpur: As many as 15 Corona warriors of the Veer Surendra Sai Institute Of Medical Science And Research (VIMSAR) in Sambalpur district have been sent on quarantine after a patient undergoing treatment at the state-run hospital tested positive for COVID-19.

Of 15 COVID warriors, 5 are doctors and 10 are nurses. They had reportedly come in contact with a patient at VIMSAR in Burla before his test report came out positive.

Of them, two doctors, who are said to be at high risk of contracting the corona infection from the COVID patient, have been asked to remain under quarantine for a period of 14 days. The remaining 13 COVID warriors including 3 doctors have been sent to the quarantine centres till their COVID test results come out.

Source said that a patient from Kuchinda area in Sambalpur district with co-morbid conditions was undergoing treatment at the VIMSAR. Under treatment, he developed COVID symptoms following which he was shifted to a COVID hospital in Bhubaneswar. Later, he tested positive for the deadly virus.
