5 more accused in Bhubaneswar sweet stall owner’s murder arrested

Bhubaneswar: Five more perons accused in the murder of a sweet stall owner in the state capital  were arrested by the Commissionerate Police today.

The arrests were made a day after prime accused Raj Kumar Behera surrendered before the Bhubaneswar Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) Court.

The five accused have been identified as Dillip kumar Behera (45), Balaram Behera (74), Sasmita Behera residents of Shishupalgarh area in Khordha district, Biswajit Barik (26) of Jarakani in Puri district and Rashmi Ranjan Barik (25) Bhimatangi in Khordha district.

” All the accused including parents and grandfather of the prime accused were produced before the court today. Biswajit and Rashmi are liable for harbouring,” informed police sources.

“The conspirator behind the murder, Raj Kumar Behera, surrendered before the court yesterday fearing police encounter,” said a senior police officer.

Earlier on October 4, two bike-borne miscreants armed with a sharp weapon chased sweet stall owner Prabhakar Sahu alias Jambu and later hacked him to death near Samantarapur Chhak in broad day light.
