5 more die of COVID-19 in Odisha, toll at 1953

Bhubaneswar: COVID-19 claimed five more lives in Odisha as the toll mounted to 1953.

The deceased have been identified as:

1. A-52 year-old man of Keonjhar district.

2. A 47-year-old man of Rayagada district who was also suffering from Hypertension and Obesity.

3. An 80-year-old woman of Nuapada district who was also suffering from Hypertension.

4. A 60-year-old woman of Nuapada district who was also suffering from Hypertension and Thyroidism.

5. A 38-year-old woman of Nuapada district who was also suffering from Hypertension.

Odisha today reported another all-time high daily COVID-19 cases as 4761 more persons in the state tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.

Out of the 4761 cases, 2785 were detected in quarantine while 1976 are local contact cases.

Khordha registered the highest number of cases as 820 more persons in the district contracted the virus.

With this, the COVID-19 tally in Odisha mounted to 377464 with 27821 active cases. The state had yesterday reported a surge of 4445 new COVID-19 cases.
