5 students of govt engineering college in Odisha’s Keonjhar to pursue higher studies in Australia

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government has decided to provide financial assistance to five meritorious students of the Government College of Engineering (GCE) in Keonjhar district to pursue their higher studies in Australia. The students today met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Naveen Niwas here.

A source said that the students are Minerva Sahu, Adwik Kumar, Aqib Mohammed, Gitish Sekhar Nayak and Saroj Kumar Biswakarma. They recently completed their B.Tech Degree in Mining Engineering from GCE.

Entire expenses to be incurred towards their study, stay in the varsity’s hostel and conveyance etcetera will be met from the available funds of Keonjhar District Mineral Foundation (DMF).

The students will take admission in Curtin University of Australia. The CM expressed his gladness that they will be admitted to West Australian School of Mines: Minerals, Energy and Chemical Engineering (WASM: MECE) of the varsity. The CM advised them to study hard and meet their career goals in life.

It is pertinent to mention here that the district Administration has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the West Australian School of Mines in this regard.
