5-yr-old girl & her father dead, 3 others critically injured in road mishap in Odisha’s Bhadrak

Bhandaripokhari: In a freak road mishap, a five-year-old girl and her father were killed and three others sustained grievous injuries today as a car in which they were travelling rammed into a road divider near Jasotikiri of Akhuapada on NH-16 under Bhandaripokhari police limits in Bhadrak district.

Identities of the deceased and injured persons have not been ascertained yet, a cop informed.

According to the police source, five persons were on board the ill-fated car. They were on their way back after having Darshan of Lord Jagannath in Puri when the fatal mishap occurred. The accident occurred at around noon leading to two untimely deaths. The tourists are from a place in Madhya Pradesh.

Three injured were rescued by some locals and were rushed to the district headquarters hospital (DHH) in Bhadrak town for treatment in critical condition and are not out of danger now, a doctor treating them said.

On being informed by locals, Bhandaripokhari police reached the spot and initiated a probe.
