‘50% residents in Odisha capital have developed COVID antibodies’

Bhubaneswar: In what can be termed as a matter of relief amid COVID-19 situation, around 50 percent of the residents of Odisha capital have developed antibodies, informed Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) Director Sanghamitra Pati at a presser here today.

In the third Serological Survey conducted in the city between October 16 and 18, as many as 1403 samples from 25 wards were collected randomly and tested, said Pati.

The survey revealed that nearly 50 percent residents of Bhubaneswar have developed antibodies after getting exposed to the virus, she said.

Pati cautioned that rest of the residents are vulnerable to coronavirus and should adhere to precautionary measures like regular washing of hands, usage of mask and social distancing.
