51,000 earthen lamps lit in Odisha’s Bolangir to mark Ram Lalla consecration

Kantabanji: Deeply moved devotees lighted around 51,000 earthen lamps today in Kantabanji locality of Odisha’s Bolangir district, to mark the consecration of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya.

When the entire country was celebrating the divine and historic event, Kantabanji residents did not lag far behind. Keeping up the festive fervour, hundreds of locals congregated at the Railway Ground in the town led by Azad Club, a youth association. They organised Deepa Mahotsav on the occasion.

The participants reached the field in a large procession at around 3.00 PM and lighted the lamps till 5.00 PM. The Railway Ground was decked up with lamps in the formation of Ayodhya temple. It also contained inscriptions such as ‘Jai Sriram’ in it, which was done with the help of lamps alone.

Notably, Deepa Mahotsavs were also organised in 15 other places in Kantabanji town during the day.
