Over 54,000 students appear for NISER screening test

Bhubaneswar, May 28:

More than 54,000 students today appeared in the National Eligibility Screening Test (NEST) for admission into Odisha capital based National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER).

The entrance was conducted between 10 AM and 1 PM in 102 centres across the country. In Odisha, the tests were conducted at 14 centres in 8 towns including Bhubaneswar.

Successful students will enrol into the five-year integrated M Sc program of the institute in four disciplines – Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. There are 132 seats on offer.

The result of the test would be out on June 17.

NISER is an autonomous research institution based in Odisha’s Jatani. It operates under the umbrella of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE). The primary objective of the institute is to train and nurture human resources in the sciences for the knowledge economies of the future.
