Bhubaneswar: With detection of 549 fresh COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the state's total caseload today further surged to 10,39,818. The new infectees include 70 in the age group of 0-18 years, informed State Information and Public Relation (I&PR) Department.
Of all the cases detected from 23 districts,318 are quarantine cases and 231 local contacts. As total 72,091 samples were tested yesterday, the Test Positivity Rate (TPR) for the day stood at 0.76 %.
While Khordha district recorded highest 296 fresh cases, Cuttack saw 50 new infections.
The number of active cases in the state now stands at 4,673.
Meanwhile, a 65-year-old man from Angul district and a 15-year-old boy of Keonjhar district have succumbed to the virus.
