594 new COVID-19 infections detected in Odisha; here’re details

Bhubaneswar: Odisha today witnessed a spike of 594 COVID-19 confirmed cases, following which the total caseload surged to 3,1,723.

Of the total fresh cases detected from  29 districts, 343 have been reported from different quarantine centres while 251 are local contact cases. Contact tracing and follow-up action is underway, said Information and Public Relation (I & PR ) Department today.

Cuttack and Sundargarh recorded highest 55 fresh cases each followed by Balangir and Mayurbhanj with 42 cases each.   

Currently, the number of total active cases in the state stands at 6,629 and recovered cases at 3,08,839.
