Puri: The construction work of the proposed 111 Km-long and 6-lane Ring Road in Bhubaneswar with an estimated cost of Rs 6,500 Crore will begin in October this year, said Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari in a public meeting in Puri district while addressing a huge gathering today.
“After completion, the green field highway ring road will benefit the people of Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Khurda. It will help save time of commuters for about an hour and a half. Similarly, the construction work of the proposed 35 Km-long and 4-lane green field Ring Road in Sambalpur with an estimated cost of Rs 1,333 Crore will also begin in October this year. This will help minimise the traffic snarl from Rourkela up to Cuttack,” the Union Minister expressed.
Coastlines are the biggest strength of Odisha and BJP-Government will implement projects to boost fishery production in the State by 7-8 times. Local fishermen will earn handsomely and the projects will strengthen their financial standing, the Union Minister stated in the meeting at Krushnaprasad.
The decision for an airport in Paradip with an estimated cost of Rs 200 crore has already been taken, the Union Minister added.
The Union Minister was in Puri Lok Sabha constituency segment to canvass local voters for the upcoming elections seeking their mandate for MLA and MP candidates of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
