6-YO girl tests positive for COVID-19 in Cuttack city

Cuttack: Of new COVID-19 cases detected from Cuttack district today, a six-year-old girl has tested positive in the Silver City, informed Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC).

The minor child from Arunodaya Nagar area under CMC has a recent travel history to Mumbai. The positive case is a family member of a previous case in Arunodaya Nagar reported on Saturday. She tested positive in quarantine centre.

With this, the number of COVID cases in Cuttack city rose to 24 with 9 active cases. As of now, 15 patients have recovered from the disease in the city.

The remaining 18 cases have been reported from rural Cuttack area.

While one positive case has been detected from Mahanga, 4 cases are from Kanpur in Narasinghpur area, 4 cases from Badamba and 9 from Subarnapur in Banki (rural), informed Cuttack district administration.

All the cases have travel history and the returnees were in quarantine centres when their test results came out positive for the coronavirus.

With 19 fresh cases in Cuttack, the tally in the district surged to 342 of which 202 cases are active 139 have recovered so far. One patient has died of COVID-19 in the district.
