Over 120 Odisha students get good ranks in JEE Advanced exam

Over 120 students from Odisha have secured ranks in the JEE Advanced Examination-2014, conducted by the IIT-Kharagpur, results of which were announced this morning.

The examination was held on May 25.

Nearly 1,30,000 students all over the country including 2300 students from Odisha had appeared in the examination.

Candidates who secured positions among the top 1.5 lakh ranks were eligible for JEE Advanced examination.

Candidates who have cleared JEE Advanced examination will be eligible for admissions to Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT), in Bhubaneshwar, Bombay, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Patna, Roorkee, Ropar and Varanasi.

Besides, they students can also apply to Indian School of Mines in Dhanbad which has 18 academic departments covering a varied range of courses in Engineering, Applied Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences and Management programmes.

IIT-Kharagpur, which coordinated the test, will keep the website of the JEE Advanced open to students who want to apply for their choice of courses till June 24.

On July 1 and July 7, first and second seat allocation will be announced respectively.

A total of 9,784 seats are available for the candidates seeking admissions in undergraduate courses.
