7-day shutdown in 1 more GP & 12 new Containment Zones in this Odisha district

Bhadrak:  In view of rising cases of COVID-19, Bhadrak district administration declared a seven-day shutdown in Odanga Gram Panchayat under Bant block with effect this morning.

All shops, except those selling essential items and medicines, commercial establishments, state Government and Central Government organisations will remain closed during the shutdown. However, essential and emergency services such as medical, police, fire, telecom, postal services, sanitation, drinking water, ATMs, movement of goods vehicle via NH, agriculture activities, LPG distribution and petrol pumps will continue to operate during the shutdown.

Besides, the administration last night declared Containment Zone in 12 out of the 30 Wards in Bhadrak Municipality. The 12 wards are – 3,6,7,9,13,14,15,16,17,18,22 and 28.  The Collector has asked people of the district not to visit the Municipality area for a temporary period.

In the last 24 hours, 25 persons, including  22 local contacts tested COVID-19 positive.  The district has so far reported 547  positive cases, including 146 active cases. While 399 have recovered from the disease, two succumbed to the virus.
