7 places in Odisha record day temperatures above 45 Deg C; Bolangir hottest with 46.3

Bhubaneswar: Despite rainfall activities being witnessed at some places in Odisha, at least seven places in the State sizzled due to maximum (day) temperatures above 45 Degrees Celsius, today.

Bolangir town recorded the highest maximum temperature at 46.3 Degrees Celsius. It was followed by Sonepur (46.2), Titilagarh, and Jharsuguda each (46.0), Sambalpur (45.6), Boudh (45.3) and Hirakud (45.1). Other places that recorded the maximum temperatures at 40.0 Degrees Celsius or above are Bhawanipatna (44.5), Nuapada, and Bargarh each (44.0), Phulbani (43.5), Sundargarh (43.4), Talcher (43.0), Malkangiri (42.5), Angul (42.1), Paralakhemundi (41.9), Rayagada, and Keonjhar each (41.2), Nayagarh (40.4) and Khordha, and Nabarangpur each (40.0), respectively.

The highest maximum temperature of 45.9°C was recorded yesterday at Boudh. The lowest minimum temperature of 31.7°C was recorded at Jharsuguda in the plains of Odisha.

Temperature Forecast: Maximum (day) temperature is likely to rise by 2°C to 3°C during the next three days and fall by 2°C to 4°C thereafter at many places over the district of Odisha.
