7,276 temporary medical camps identified in GPs in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has identified 7,276 temporary medical camps in Gram Panchayats with the provision of all basic facilities to meet any emergent situation in view of COVID-19, said an official on Monday.

In all 6,798 Gram Panchayats, 7,276 temporary medical camps have been identified with provision of all basic facilities to meet any emergent situation, said Subroto Bagchi, chief spokesperson of Odisha government on COVID-19.

He said one designated officer has been declared as nodal officer in each GP for the temporary medical camps.

Service providers have been identified for supply of all essential materials like food, beds, bedsheets etc. in case of necessity.

Besides, all Community Health Centres (CHCs) and Primary Health Centres (PHCs) have been ordered to remain in readiness with all basic facilities like drinking water, toilet, electricity and all sanitary measures for which the BDOs have been authorized to spend Rs 10 lakh for CHC and Rs 5 lakh for PHC.

The members of the PRI institutions will sensitise the people of their respective areas regarding consequences of COVID-19 in the light of government advisory, said Bagchi.
