74% polling in 2nd phase Odisha polls

The average polling in the second phase polls in Odisha is 74 percent,  chief electoral officer (CEO) Dr Mona Sharma said at a press briefing here today.

While Mayurbhanj district has recorded a maximum of 82 percent polling, it was 75 percent in Bhadrak, 75.6 in Nayagarh, 80 percent in Jharsuguda, 75.2 percent in Jagatsinghpur, 70 percent in Cuttack, 73.9 in Puri, 72 percent in Keonjhar, 76 percent in Dhenkanal, 72.9 in Kendrapara and 71.9 percent in Baleswar district, she informed .

While the lowest turnout has been recorded in Khurda district with 56 percent, rest of the the district have had polling figures above 70%. the CEO said.

Dr Sharma said that the electronic voting machines (EVMs) have been kept inside 64 strong rooms across the state amid tight security.
