8-year-old kid dies, 12 taken ill after consuming food at feast in Odisha

Rayagada: An eight-year-old boy died while 12 others were taken ill after taking food at a feast in Poduchuan village under Kalyansinghpur block of Rayagada district yesterday.

The deceased has been identified as Nabin Krushikar of the same village.

Sources said all the 13 persons, including kids and senior citizens, complained of diarrhea after having food at a feast in their village last evening. They were later rushed to community health centres (CHCs) at Rayagada, Sikarpai and Kalyansinghpur for treatment.

However, the eight-year-old kid died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
