8-yr-old boy becomes highest paid YouTube star: Forbes

Bhubaneswar: Eight-year-old Ryan Kaji of Texas  in the US is the youngest in the world to earn 26 million USD from his YouTube channel in 2019. Besides, he has  become the highest paid creator on the online platform, according to a list published by Forbes magazine on Wednesday .

In 2018 also, Kaji, whose real name is Ryan Guan, was the highest earner on the video platform with 22 million USD, according to Forbes. His channel “Ryan’s World” was launched in 2015 by his parents, when Ryan was just three-year-old. Kaji, who stays his mother and twin sisters in Texas, now has 22.9 million subscribers.

Several videos of Ryan have receive millions of hits and a couple of them have more than a billion views. The channel has received 34,678,225,074 views, according to the statistics data obtained from YouTube .  YouTube channels of Dude Pefect and Anastasia Radzinskaya came in second and third positions with 20 million USD and 18 million USD, respectively.

Recently,Ryan’s channel was renamed after a consumer advocacy organisation ‘Truth in Advertising’ filed a complaint with the US Federal Trade Commission(FTC). The Advertising company accused the channel of not clearly mentioning which videos had been sponsored and brands paid for the videos to feature their products.
