80-yr-old man burnt to death at farmland in Odisha’s Balasore

Balasore: In a tragic incident, an 80-year-old man was burnt to death at his farmland at Gilajodi village under Singla police limits in Odisha’s Balasore district today.

According to reports, Kalicharan Jena of the village set the farmland, on which he had cultivated and harvested sugarcane, on fire this afternoon.

Unfortunately, the intensity of the blaze went out of control and the elderly man was charred to death.

Though villagers rushed to the spot to rescue Jena, he had succumbed to burn injuries by that time.

Police have recovered the body and started investigation into the incident.
