82 schools in Odisha served notice for zero results in Matric exam

Cuttack: The state Government today served a notice to 82 schools that recorded nil results in the annual Class 10 examinations conducted by Board of Secondary Education (BSE) this year.

School and Mass Education Minister Sameer Ranjan Dash informed this after a meeting with board authorities here today.

Dash said he will visit the schools and review the reason behind the poor show in the annual board exam. After that, steps will be taken accordingly. Besides, a proposal was also put forth at the meeting for introduction of Spoken English course in the schools, he added.

Dash, who attended the meeting during his first courtesy visit to the BSE office today, further said that he would focus on strengthening the secondary education in the state.

“Government schools in the state are losing credibility theses days, which has become a challenge for us. I will take every required step to rekindle people’s faith on the schools,” Dash asserted.
