9 children, 47 others test COVID-19 positive in Cuttack city

Cuttack: As many as nine children among 56 persons in Cuttack city have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, With this,  the city’s COVID-19 tally surged to 833, informed Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) today.

Of the 56 fresh cases, 47 were under home quarantine, seven under institutional quarantine and remaining two are local contacts.

Of the nine children,  three kids aged 8 years, 12 years and three and a half years, all male, were under institutional quarantine. The rest six children (3-YO male, 5-YO male, two 10-YO males, 11-YO male and 6-YO female) were home quarantined.

Besides, a Corona warrior from Badambadi with recent travel history to Srinagar and two from SCB Medical College and Hospital have tested positive for the virus.

Currently,  the total number of active cases in the city rose to 502. However, 321 patients have recovered from the disease so far whereas 10 succumbed to it.

In the last 24 hours, the district today reported 64 new positive cases.
