9 Odisha Fire Service personnel test COVID-19 positive

Bhubaneswar: Nine personnel belonging to Odisha Fire Service have tested positive for COVID-19 in State, informed Information & Public Relations (I&PR) Department today.

They are among 146 fresh positive cases reported in Odisha in last 24 hours.

According to I&PR Department, nine Fire personnel had recently returned from Cyclone AMPHAN duty in West Bengal.

They were in quarantine centres after returning from neighbouring State. They were found COVID-19 positive following swab test conducted on June 14.

Yesterday, 13 personnel of NDRF/ODRAF/Fire Service were tested positive in Odisha.

The COVID-19 tally in Odisha reached 4055 following 146 new cases reported today from 15 districts. Of fresh cases, 128 cases were reported from different quarantine centres and 18 are local contacts. With this, the number of active cases in the State now rose to 1333. As of now, the number of recovered cases is 2708 and 11 patients have succumbed to the deadly virus.
