Aahaar centres reopen in Odisha capital after cyclone FANI

Bhubaneswar: All the 11 Aahaar centres in Odisha capital, which were damaged due to cyclonic storm FANI on May 3, reopened today.

The centres had remained closed as the main kitchen of the Akshaya Patra Foundation, which supplies cooked food to these facilities, sustained damage in the cyclone.

Aahaar programme, launched by the State Government on April 1, 2015, provides cooked hot meals (rice and dalma) to people at the cost of Rs 5 per plate. The Aahaar centres in Bhubaneswar provide around 8,000 meals during daytime.
