AAP names 7 LS candidates for Odisha

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today named seven candidates for the coming Lok Sabha elections in Odisha.

They are  Dr Dhanada Kanta Mishra ( Brahmapur), Bismaya Mohapatra( Bhubaneswar), Dr Bikash Das ( Cuttack), Jimuta Prasad Mishra ( Dhenkanal), Mamata Kundu ( Baleswar), Satya Nahar (Kalahandi) and Nirad Baran Khuntia (Puri).

These names were announced today in New Delhi as part of the third list of 20 AAP candidates.

Earlier, social activist Lingaraj was named as the AAP candidate for the Bargarh Lok Sabha seat.

Dr. Dhanada Kanta Mishra is an academician, administrator and serial entrepreneur. Currently he is the Director (Academics) of KMBB College of Engineering, Khordha. He is a core member of the AAP and the party’s Odisha spokesperson.

Bismaya Mahapatra , a postgraduate in science, is a social worker who has been involved in NGOs working for the tribal people. He is presently the state secretary AAP, Odisha.

Dr.Bikash Das is a widely known human rights activist and lawyer. Presently he is the president of CLAP, which is one of the oldest legal aid oriented human rights organizations in India.

Jimuta Prasad Mishra a M.Phil degree holder in International politics ( JNU) is an RTI activist . and is involved in the development sector for the last 12 years..

Mamata Kundu, a graduate from Utkal University, is a social activist. She joined the Jana Lokpal Movement and later on became an active member of AAP.

Satya Mahar, one of the founding members of the Odisha unit of AAP, was actively involved in  mobilizing the Dongaria Kondh tribal people against mining in Niyamgiri by Vedanta. He is also part of the team which organised the filing of a PIL in the Supreme Court against the illegal mining in the state..

Nirada Barana Khuntia , a former lecturer, has won national awards in social service . Presently he is engaged in training the programme coordinators of NSS.
