Absconder severely injures police by biting hand in Odisha’s Keonjhar, manages to flee again

Keonjhar: An accused in an ‘attempt to murder’ case managed to give the slip to local cops by biting a hand of one of them and severely injuring the policeman early today morning, when being arrested from his house at Karadapal village of Bato panchayat under Sainkula outpost and Ramachandrapur police limits in Keonjhar district.

Even to the extent, the absconder’s family attacked the team following this.

Police have arrested the absconder’s mother identified as Chhabilata Baral over the alleged attack.

The absconder has been identified as Pradyush Baral from Karadapal village.

According to a source, Pradyush had been absconding for quite a long time. A case was earlier registered against him under Section 307. Police were tipped off in the morning that the absconder had come to his native village. Swinging into action, Sainkula outpost in-charge Suresh Kumar Majhi raided his house and attempted to arrest him. However, the accused bit the cop and fled from the spot.

Chhabilata was forwarded to court later in the day, the outpost in-charge informed.
