Salepur: An undertrial prisoner (UTP) who had escaped from Sisua Sub-Jail in Cuttack district last evening was later arrested by police late last night.
According to jail authorities, UTP Nrusingha Nath Samal, a resident of Adhuna khandaga village under Kendupatna Panchayat in the district, was last seen in jail at 1:30 pm yesterday. He later went missing in the evening hours. When jail officials learnt about his missing, they initiated a search within the jail. After failing to find him, they lodged a written complaint with Salipur police.
On receiving the complaint, Salipur police swung into action and later traced him from Khanadagaon area, informed Salipur police station IIC Debendra Kumar Mallick.
