ABVP seeks Odisha minister’s resignation in honey-trap case

Bhubaneswar: Activists of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) today burnt the photos of School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash in front of the Utkal University here alleging the latter’s involvement in cases relating to woman blackmailer Archana Nag.

The agitators threw black ink at the minister’s photos and kicked the same to vent their anger.

The ABVP activists sought the resignation of Dash for his alleged link with Nag.

“The School and Mass Education (S&ME) Minister is involved in cases relating to woman blackmailer Archana Nag. It is a shameful incident for the society. The Chief Minister should dismiss the S&ME minister from the Cabinet if the latter does not submit his resignation at the earliest,” said an agitator.

Notably, Nag was extorting money from politicians and other influential people by honey-trapping them.

The incident came to light when a girl filed a complaint against Odia film producer Akshaya Parija, accusing him of sexually exploiting her. Following this complaint, some purportedly obscene pictures of Parija with a girl went viral on the social media.

A day later, the film producer lodged a complaint at the Nayapalli police station alleging that Nag and another woman, Shradhanjali Behera, had sought Rs 3 crore from him. The police had arrested Nag a few days ago.
