Lunar Eclipse on 8 November 2022 in Odisha: Chandra Grahan Timing, Paka Tyaga Time

Bhubaneswar: A total lunar eclipse/chandra grahan will take place on November 8, 2022 (Tuesday).

Areas of visibility: Asia, Australia, North America, parts of northern and eastern Europe, and most of South America. In India, total lunar eclipse would be visible only from eastern parts whereas partial lunar eclipse would be visible from most of India.

It would be the second Lunar Eclipse of 2022.

Below are important timings of the Lunar Eclipse for Odisha as per Hindu almanac.

  • Paka Tyaga (prohibition of cooking), stoppage of rice consumption and Devaniti (rituals of the deities) to begin from 5.54 AM on November 8.
  • Grahan Sparsha: 2.38 PM.
  • Grahana Madhya: 4.28 PM.
  • Sarva Moksha: 6.18 PM.

Cooking, rice consumption and devaniti allowed from 6.19 PM onwards.
