Bhubaneswar: Amid casting couch allegations doing the round in Ollywood against some prominent faces including filmmaker Sanjay Nayak, a newcomer actress makes starting revelation on the trend in Odia film industry.

"Casting couch exists in Ollywood. Not only female actors or newcomers, but also some film producers get trapped," said Rapashree Panda.

Her statement came close on heels of casting couch allegation by a leading actress Jasmine Rath and supported by popular Ollywood actress Prakruti Mishra against Odia film producer Sanjay Nayak.

Dismissing the allegations against Nayak, she said, "It is completely baseless. It is being heard that the actress was invited to a reputed club in Bhubaneswar. You can stay out of home at late night for shooting. If you get invitation for meeting at 10 pm, you could have visited there with your mother. You did not feel comfortable to go there following which you were denied the offer and the producer worked with another actor."

Rupashree said that many newcomers face such trauma in the industry during their struggle to get any project.

"Even I was the victim. I have received many offers from Ollywood bigwigs. But I have protested it, at times I have assaulted those who tried to tarnish my dignity, or else I just ignore them," the actress said.

Speaking about the casting couch, she said that on the pretext of offers, they will ask you for compromises that young girls easily agree to do.

"I was asked '10 minutes compromise will create a space for you in industry where you will survive happily for next 10 years. You will become famous as you will see your huge posters at prime locations in Bhubaneswar'. They will show you dreams, but all are fantasy and fake. They think young girls are subjected to use and make compromises," the actress said.

And sometime, the girls are also responsible for growing number casting couch incidents in Ollywood, she said.

"The girls are sole responsible for such act. As they are ready to make compromise for their career, the filmmakers get opportunity to harass them and use them," she told media.
