Mumbai, July 15:
Aditya Chopra’s last directorial “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi”, starring Shah Rukh Khan released back in 2008. But the ace filmmaker is not yet ready for his next venture as a director.
Rumour mills are abuzz that Chopra will soon collaborate with Shah Rukh, whom he also directed in “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” and “Mohabbatein’, for his new film, but an official statement from Yash Raj Films (YRF) indicates that no such project has yet been finalised.
“While Aditya Chopra will definitely direct a film soon, as of now he has not finalised what he is going to be making next and has not even started writing the script. Anything at this point in time would, therefore, be unfortunate and misleading conjecturing,” read a statement from YRF.
“As and when he does finalise plans for his next venture, we will certainly be happy to make an announcement,” the statement read further.
Chopra, who married actress Rani Mukerji in Italy in April, is one of Bollywood’s most successful producers.
‘…Planet Of The Apes’ impresses Anurag Kashyap, Arjun Kapoor
Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and actor Arjun Kapoor have given thumbs up to the 3D sequel and visual effects saga “Dawn Of The Planet Of the Apes”.
The film released July 4, and they have called it one of the best films released so far this year.
Directed by Matt Reeves and starring the king of motion capture Andy Serkis along with Oscar nominee Gary Oldman, Jason Clarke and Keri Russel, the film has received positive reviews. Even members of B-town seem happy.
“I absolutely loved the film…Better than all the big event films we have seen so far this summer,” said Kashyap.
Arjun tweeted: “Hail Caesar!! #DawnofthePlanetoftheApes has to be the film of the year @andyserkis @mattreevesLA awe inspiring performance & storytelling.”
Shreyas Talpade directs Farah Khan for ‘Poshter Boyz’
Actor-producer Shreyas Talpade, who had earlier starred in Farah Khan’s “Om Shanti Om”, had approached the choreographer-filmmaker Farah Khan to do a guest appearance in his production “Poshter Boyz”. She immediately agreed to be a part of it.
When Shreyas met Farah on her set to explain the scene to her, she suggested that they shoot it right then and there.
Director of photography Mahesh Limaye, who was shooting an ad film with Farah at that time readily agreed to helm the camera. Shreyas called the shot, which was a single take.
While Shreyas was leaving the set, recounted a source, his associate producer Hadi Abrar nudged him, saying: “Did you realise that you just directed Farah.”
Produced under Shreyas Talpade’s banner Affluence Movies Private Limited, “Poshter Boyz” is all set to hit the silver screens Aug 1.
