Aditya Dash death case: Odisha CB writes to forensic lab for lie detection test

Bhubaneswar: In a significant development in the social worker and motivational speaker ‘Manab Premi’ Aditya Dash death case, the Odisha Crime Branch has written to the State Forensic Science Laboratory (SFSL) here seeking lie detection test on the deceased’s wife Bidyashree and his friends Bikash, Papu and Pritam.

The Crime Branch has provided the SFSL with the case details, FIR copy and statements of those having links with the case, reports said.

The investigators have decided to conduct the polygraph test due to mismatch in statements of the four, reports added.

Aditya was found dead on the railway track near Lingaraj Temple Road station in the city on July 7. He had gotten married on June 9. He was running an old-age home at Sundarapara in the city and was involved in social service through an NGO namely ‘People For Seva’. Post-mortem report had revealed that he died due to grievous injuries on his head.

Odisha DGP Abhay had directed the Crime Branch to investigate into the case, which was earlier probed by the Government Railway Police (GRP).

Aditya’s suspected marital discord and alleged mismanagement of funds in the NGO are under the scanner of the Crime Branch.

In a related development, parents of Aditya have rubbished the rumours doing the rounds on social media that they were struggling to make ends meet after his death.
