Admissions of 8 students into BJB College cancelled over fake disability certificates

Bhubaneswar: The Higher Education Department of the Odisha Government today cancelled the admissions of as many as eight students into the BJB Autonomous College here for allegedly furnishing fake disability certificates.

The principal of the educational institution had earlier lodged FIR against the students while the Badagada police had started an investigation into the incident.

A forgery case has also been registered in this connection under relevant sections of the IPC.

The offence came to fore as the principal noticed some discrepancies in the documents submitted by the students. After conducting a probe, he found that the disability certificates of the students are fake.

Possible involvement of other students in the offence was also being examined by the college authorities.
